Fire ants have invaded my raised garden beds and so far, all attempts to deter them have not worked. DE barely touched the mounds; baking soda & vinegar deterred them for a minute; boric acid is not working.

I live in Woodway, just outside of Waco and other residents have told me that they've never seen this level of infestation. I can't work in my garden w/o being attacked.

Can anyone help? Please?

Have you tried the granular fire ant killer with spinosad? That works pretty well. Or you could mix up some beneficial nematodes and pour them around according to the directions. See the various entries in the library.

Green Light Fire Ant Control with Conserve. Conserve is the trade name for spinosad.

Please use it conservatively as spinosad is a fairly non selective insect killer. It is an insect disease which causes paralysis. Try one 2-finger pinch near the mound and give that 2 days to work. If you need more, repeat with another 2-finger pinch. At that rate, one bag will last a very long time.
