I have what I think are flea hoppers on all of my yucca plants. They just showed up in the last day or two and are covering the leaves. They are very small black bugs with red heads and they start running all over when I go close to the plant.

Do flea hoppers have red heads? In the Texas Bug Book it doesn't say that they do. Thanks.

Flea hoppers are black. Do you have photos of these critters?

I can take a picture of them, and will post it up soon.

Here is a picture of the bug in question. They are very small - about the size of 1/8 grain of rice. There are puncture holes all over the leaves of the yucca.

Post subject:  Yucca Plant Bug

OK, I found out what the tiny black and red bug is that is all over my yucca plants. It's called a Yucca Plant Bug. What an ingenious name!

Anyway, I found it on a different site and thought I would pass along the information.
