No chemicals since we moved here 8 years ago. I've spread molasses every single year and spray Garrett Juice regularly.
Still overrun with fire ants. What more can I do?
I remember someone calling in some time ago commenting that they used a brand of molasses that wasn't helpful and then they switched to another brand and had good results so I'm wondering if that could be my issue but I have never seen any information on which brands to use and which to avoid or what the difference is.

I don't know what to do as I am losing this war.

I suspect it would be an expensive and slow search to find a brand of molasses that might eliminate the fire ants.

With all of the rain we have right now, the best and easiest treatment would be to use beneficial nematodes on the
mounds. When you buy the package you'll see that there are two strengths and methods mentioned - the one that
sends them far and wide to kill off the larval stage of beetles, ticks, fleas, and more, and there is a more dense
method to use for fire ants. It has been a long time since I did the fire ant treatment and this year for the first time
in probably 5 or 6 years I noticed a few coming back in a couple of places in the yard, so I'll go out and put out
nematodes.

They can't be applied in direct sunlight and they need to be watered in, so do the math -- it's supposed to rain this week.
Perfect timing for nematodes.
