Some type of insect is eating on my potatoe plants. Does any one have any suggestions as to what I can do?

You need to explain your problem better. What kind of damage, etc.?? You can use a garlic/pepper spray to repel the bugs, add orange oil to kill any bug on the plant or use one of the plant oils to kill & repel the critters. Hard to suggest a solution without knowing the cause!

Have you seen what is causing the problem, or is this happening at night? If at night, could be slugs or something along those lines. Last year, I had beautiful potato plants that started looking like they were being eaten. There were these strange looking little things that looked like short fat dark gray worms. I sprayed with Bt and it got rid of them, and the plants made a full recovery. It's hard to help if you haven't seen anything on the plants themselves.

Thanks for the input.

There are small round holes on the leaves. I haven't seen any bugs on the plants. With all of the rain we have received lately the damage seems to be less. I'll try the garlic/pepper spray first to see if that does the trick.

are they actual holes or more kike "bruises" on the leaves. I had something making dozens of tiny holes on my tomatoe leaves, before the rain. I doused each plant with DE and all the leaves that came out after that have not been touched.
