We are new to organic gardening. My Hubby is the son of a farm boy. I grew up on a farm in Missouri. My Dad doesn't follow organic farming methods. I was first introduced to organic farming when I was a teen, I worked for a truck farm that followed organic methods.

We have been using organic methods since this last spring. I have always wanted to go organic but really didn't know how till we ran into The Dirt Doctor radio show and for the last year have been eating up all the information we can get on growing organic.

I look forward to learning more by being involved in this group.

Blessings :D

Welcome to the group! If you haven't had a chance yet, you may want to look around for (or add to your holiday gift list) some of Howard's books. I find his Texas Bug Book particularly helpful in figuring out if what I'm seeing in the garden (and it is always changing) is friend or foe.

Some of the Organic manuals have been updated a great deal over the years, so it's best to find the most recent editions of those.

Being in the North Texas area you'll find lots of garden centers and nurseries that stock the materials and plants that Howard recommends.

What have you been doing so far? Landscaping, flower gardening, vegetable gardening, etc.?
