:D New to the forum. Live in Frisco, Texas. Have been reading the topics in the forum for a few days now, trying to figure out if organic is something I want to do. I must admit, I am a little intimidated. In addition, I have purchased a number of Howard Garrett books for aid.

I just recently moved in to my new house in October of 2003 from my house in the Lake Highlands area near White Rock Lake. It is a little depressing to see the lack of large trees and shrubs in my new area, so I'm ready to dig in and get this yard up and growing. Look forward to getting more invaluable knowledge and insight from ya'll.

Howdy, Neighbor! (heh)

Trust me, the intimidation factor will fade away soon enough. Read as much as you can and ask question along the way when something isn't clear. The organic approach isn't really any more convoluted than the alternatives, it's just new/different to most people in the begining.

When I first started going organic with a new house I found that it was generally best to focus on one thing at a time rather than take the "do it all at once" approach. Take tree and shrub planting and make that your first project to learn as much as you can about. Plan well before you do anything and enjoy the process.

Thanks dcluck. My biggest challenge is to resist using Manage to control my Nutsedge problem. An employee at Calloways recommended Manage to control Nutsedge. I have since decided to go organic, but upon reading several posts about controlling the nutsedge weed and the lack of effective methods to control the problem, I will continued to be "intrigued" by its claimed effectiveness. With the summer coming, I'm hopeful that my bermuda will eventually chock the weed out.

Howdy Neighbor and welcome to the world try to understand Organics which is quite simple.....Mother Nature has it figured out and we just need to make observations on the how-to's.

Regarding "Logged Out": No need to log out each time, just log in and select Favorites from your browser and click add. Next time you want to visit the site you will already be 'logged in'. I think it's called a 'cookie'.
