Post subject:  ornamental loss

Hello everyone, new to the group this morning. We have three large(9 ft) variegated ornamental bushes(pittosporum?) out back against the house that have been there since long before we moved here 6 years ago. Each year they seem to get a powdery substance on the leaves which disappears as summer goes on. This year 2 of the three have lost large sections of leaves and show bare branches in the center of the plant, one in the front and one in the rear. We have been organic since we moved in but have not done anything to these bushes this year except spray them with a skim milk mixture at the beginning of the summer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, as the dirt doctor would say, "Get rid of them". I love pitts but they don't like it here in Texas. They actually do better in the house, then outside.
