It is very common to find a baby bird outside its nest this time of year. If you find yourself in this situation, consider the following:
1. The first choice is always to locate the nest and return the baby bird to the nest. The parent birds will not have have a problem with "human smell."
2. If you can not find the nest and the bird can support itself then place it on a tree limb or nearby bush. The chances are good the parents will continue to feed the baby bird.
3. If the baby is so young that it cannot support itself, its chance of survival are slim. Your best hope is to try to find a songbird rahab facility and deliver it to them. It is a very difficult job to hand feed baby birds, who require food every 20 minutes or so.
