I have a pair of buzzards living in an open barn on my land any ideas on ways of getting them to roost else where?

I've done some research and it seems to be a Black Vulture and now they laid an egg! I guess they will be a resident for a while. I'll try getting the pair to move on later. They are really neat to watch they just scare my wife every time we try to go in the barn.

I would put a chair in the barn behind a piece of plywood or a cloth to block their sight of you and get your wife a pair of binoculars. My hope is that once she sees the parents feeding the baby her maternal instincts will overcome her fears.

That’s is a good idea but the barn doesn’t lend its self well to that. I will try to get some pictures of them though. They are real neat birds/ raptors? huge standing two foot high and have a funny walk jet lack feathers. The first time I saw one take off I didn’t think it would happen. Once they are in the air they soar as easily as any little songbird. I think I let them be until after the chick hatches and leave the nest but I do need to get then to move their roosting area.

After the chick hatches and they leave you can block the entrance. If that is not possible, I have seen fishing line, strung in a cross pattern, eliminate big birds like herons and seagulls.
