Why Fort Worth has not sprayed for mosquitoes http://www.stopwestnilesprayingnow.org/ ... y2002.html

West Nile Spraying
Opposition to spraying pesticides over populated areas to kill adult mosquitoes (adulticiding) rests on two very simple facts: 1) it does not work, and 2) it is dangerous to some people in the short term and adds to the overall pesticide load in the environment for the long term. The second point is moot given that adulticiding is ineffective, but it is important because spraying continues as West Nile virus recedes into a state known as chronic endemicity, one in which very few people are infected.

Now that we know the spraying is inevitable, what can we do to help protect our own properties, if anything? I plan on using floating row cover over what I am able, but is there anything else we can do?

Also, is there any good way to dispose of the row cover after the spraying? I was thinking possible large clear plastic bag to which a little water is added since the chemical supposedly "breaks down" in water and in sunlight. .......(I wonder what it "breaks down" into)?

The MSDS for Duet is full of mis-information.
Check the ingredient MSDS's and you will see skull and crossbones and danger to aquatic environments.
It also states less than 1% VOC when it conains 15-25% Aromatic hydrocarbon solvent which is 100% VOC.
