I have some bine weed starting to grow in my yard. How can I get rid of it?

I am not quite sure what "bine weed" is, but a good non-selective herbicide can be made by using a gallon of 10% vinegar. To that, add 2 ounces of orange oil and 1 teaspoon of soap. Spray during the hottest part opf the day. Another way is to cut it back over and over. Eventually, it will run out of energy and not come back. Or, you could cut it back and cover the stub with molasses. Hope this helps! Let us know how it works for you, what you did and all. I like updates!

Palmarez-
Could that be 'BIND weed'? If you DO get rid of it, WE ALL want to know how you did it! Maybe I won't have to just use it as part of my garden...

Patty,
I have given up on it and just call it my lawn, along with the bermuda grass.

Does anyone have a photo of this weed, be it "bine" or "bind"?

I have a sneaking suspicion this may have a massive tuber underground. If this is the case, the tuber must be excavated. Then chop it up into pieces and throw it in a hot compost pile!

Contact your local Extension Agent, he should have some litature on this. I am a printer and we printed a brochure for the Agency in Amarillo on this subject. I think that it is a moth that they release in an infested area that feeds on the Bind Weed. It just shrivels up the vine. At the time I think they were free. If you can't locate an agent let me know and I will look in the files and find a brochure to send you.

I would like to find out more about this. What kind of moth is it? Which county put the information out? Thanks!
