just lost 1/2 of the branches from a 25 yr old live oak in the recent tornado. now that it's been pruned, is there anything else I should do? fertilize - water - leave it alone - give it a hug?

thanks

Sick tree treatment, plenty of spray-feeding with organics, and don't kill it with overwatering. Watch for any wounds that get bothersome such as a pruned cut that gets disease or bugs in it. If that happens, clean the affected area with peroxide and use tree trunk goop on the wound for a while.

Sick tree treatment and Tree trunk goop info are in the sticky posts at teh top of the tree forum.

JAX,
Sorry about your tornado damaged tree.

Have the larger branches been cut back to the main trunk? I think they should be and be dressed for the final cut. I use "Wet-Dry" roof patch and have seen no affects to the tree.

Your profile is very incomplete and just curious where the tornado was.
Does JAX = Jacksonville, Florida ?
