Post subject:  aphids on our oak tree, help

We've just moved into a house with a large bur oak?, I dont know for sure but it has huge acorns, and its infested with aphids. Ive released two series of lacewing eggs and the yard is full of ladybug larvae but they are not making a dent. It has been over two months and the aphids are just too much. I dont know what to do as the tree is too tall to spray the leaves down with water. It doesnt look like the healthiest tree to begin with and the honeydew all over the yard, sidewalk, and our cars is driving me mad. Please help!
What are my options.....

systemic poison?

call a company to spray it?

cut it down?

Thanks

They really aren't that big a deal. They'll be gone with the first freeze. Aphids hit plants that are in stress. Sometimes the stress is caused by the weather. Chances are the soil is not healthy enough yet and/or the tree is too deep in the ground. Exposing the root flare may get rid of the pests. If you must kill them immediately, spray one of the plant oil products.
