A friend was thinking about planting a male cottonwood -- he has enough land to plant it away from any houses or fences.

I'm assuming he'll have the weak wood and destructive roots? Other than that, it'd be ok?

That plus the chance that it was mis-labeled and turns out to be female.

Not to mention it'll contribute to the propagation of a species that irritates a lot of people, lol.
