Hello...

I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on my tree.

I think it's a water oak...pretty good size tree. I'd say the diameter is probably about 14-16".

Anyways...I have this spot on the tree (see attachment) It's about 18-14" up on the trunk from the ground. The tree is up against a large deck, and the tree is surrounded by the deck on two sides, about 6 ft up on the trunk. The tree has about 12" between it and the deck. This spot is on one of the sides that is facing the deck.

Suggestions on what it is, and how to treat it...would be appriecated!

I spot has been there for as long I can remember...the leaky stuff I think is somewhat new. The tree has been up against the deck for about 9 years.

thanks!

That just looks like all out dammage to me. I dunno, looks like something that can't be fixed. Hope one of the tree experts helps you.
