I just had a home built on 10acres which was previously a corn field. I have been working on the lawn getting prepared for grass. I wondered if anyone knew the best type of grass to seed in that would also be good for horses?

I would post under farming and ranching also..and maybe the lawn/turf section since it's not really about landscaping.

I collect tons of horse manure and sawdust bedding from a local equine clinic for my compost piles. I notice a lot of Timothy hay, alfalfa, wheat, and oat grass hay mixed in the sawdust bedding.

I would assume any of these grasses would make a good pasture grass for horses.

Happy Gardening!
