I used to get organic dried grain cereals from a certain company - whose merchandise was SO organic that the mealy worms were included in the grits and the seven-grain cereals - I am not a hot- buttered mealy worm fan, so the dried cereal grains went into the compost bin - and oh, my! This seemed to "fire up" that particular bin in no time, I was seeing my compost bin actually "steaming" on icy mornings - during the ice storm, that bin melted the ice that tried to encase it! I also put the tortillas that have been in the bag a little long...and gotten a little green around the edges. I think the bugs and worms really like them......
