Hi I live in Cedar Park, tx and found these disgusting worm looking critters in my backyard. I have been living in this house for over 3 months and today is the first time I see them. There is ALOT of them!! please help in identifying and are they dangerous for the house or dog? Also how do I get rid of them? Thanks for any help.

Those a millipedes, harmless and generally beneficial. Is your back yard particularly moist? Do you have a lot
of decaying wood or compost back there?

Generally I would leave them alone, but if they are a big problem then dust the area with diatomaceous earth. If
that doesn't chase them off, then a use a hose end sprayer with orange oil should kill them.
