It's been a very long time since I've been here. I have a strawbale house I built near Blanco. We laid down a caliche driveway three years ago, and we now have these awful burrs that grow. My wife and I spent 4 days last spring pulling them up by the roots. They are not grass burrs, they are something else. I will try to get a picture up. I am at my wits end, as they are back with vengance this year. I am ready to use just about anything! Please help! I don't know that vinegar will do it.

When you post again in this forum and this thread, you'll see below the message body box a green line and the orange words "upload attachment." If you size your photos down to about 800 or 1000px wide then they'll display properly on the page and you can select and upload them. If you can't get that to work then upload your photos to someplace for photo sharing like Flickr or Photobucket and link to their location. Places like Photobucket supply the PHP code you need to post it directly or you can get the simple image URL from the photo site and paste it in here, then select that link and click on the "Img" button above the message and it will display inline.

Give vinegar a try. Put a little clear shampoo in with it to be sure it sticks to the plant. Some plants shed water which would make the vinegar less effective. Spray on the hottest day you can with clear skies. Vinegar seems to work much better in full sun on hot days.
Have you done anything to improve the soil where these weeds are growing? Quite often the sticker type plants only grow where nothing else will - very poor soil. If you improve the soil with a layer of mulch and just a touch of moisture, the stickers might go away by themselves.
