DIFFICULT WEED TO CONTROL
CAROLINA SNAILSEED

Pretty vine - right? Well, not in my opinion. I have made the mistake of being too kind about this plant in the past. Truth is that it is one of the most invasive plants that exists. It is almost impossible to get rid of because it propagates from seed spread by birds and other animals and from rhizomes traveling under ground. The only way to manage it is to dig it out and dig it out and dig it out....and on and on! The fruit is colorful but don't let it mature. Cut the top back before this happens.

Here's the text about the plant from my Texas Gardening Book. I was far too nice.  Carolina Snailseed
