Creeping Cucumber




Creeping Cucumber Melothria pendula Very fast growing vine that pulls out easily and has edible fruit. The green (unripe) fruit what is edible. It should be eaten raw. It grows in the spring, summer, fall. The seeds/fruit contain a POWERFUL laxative when ripe, so avoid purple or black fruit, only eat light-green ones. Recommended control: This and many other tough undesirable plants are best controlled with physical removal and the use of vinegar and fatty acid products on regrowth.
