Fish Meal
A natural fertilizer originally used in this country by Native Americans growing corn. The used whole fish. Has a high analysis of approximately 8-12-2, but is also smelly, so use with caution. Very good for flowering plants.
Question: I use cornmeal and molasses on my St. Augustine grass. I also use corn gluten meal. I've been doing this for two years, and the grass looks great. But I would like it to be greener. What else can I do? T.L., Salado
Answer: You might add fish meal or a fish meal-based blended fertilizer. Using it for fall fertilization will help with the color next season.
