BOTANICAL NAME:  Cuphea hyssopifolia

TYPE: Perennial

LOCATION:  Light shade to partial sun

HEIGHT:  1 – 2 feet

SPACING:  1 foot

HABIT:  Also known as false heather, annual with small purple flowers all summer on lacy foliage.  Very small, glossy, dark green leaves, dormant in winter.  Dainty purple or white flowers, ever glooming during warm seasons.  Can be aggressive and is best used as a groundcover where it has some room to grow.  Attracts butterflies, can freeze to the ground.
