Organic vs Non-Organic – compared on Live Oaks

An email received by a listener contained two photos of live oak trees that received different treatment: one organic, one not. The listener reported "Both same size from same source, planted same day, adjacent lots so same old pasture land."

On lot one - a live oak that received the organic program. The root flare appears to be exposed.

Adjacent lot - a live oak that is directly behind the six-foot-tall Mr. Moody is the same age and purchased at the same time from the same producer as the tree in the top photo. It didn't receive organic program. No extra attention to the root flare.
