Potassium Deficiency
Potassium deficiency causes reduced vigor and poor plant growth. Frequently, the older leaves turn white and curl, later becoming bronzed. Severe deficiencies cause poorly developed root systems. To treat deficiencies, add rock, granite dust, wood ash, or other potassium-rich organic material to the compost and directly to the soil. Heavy consistent mulching also helps maintain the potassium supply.
