HABIT: Tender perennial with distinctive purple foliage. Height: 24-48 in. Spacing: 36-48 in.
CULTURE: Best in shade to part shade. Can stand some full sun but the rich purple color comes out best in shady locations. Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings. It is also suitable for growing indoors. Hardiness: zones 9-11 but used as an annual in colder climates. Tolerant of most soils but best in well-prepared beds. Propagation is from softwood cuttings.
