SPCA Pet Adoption, August 17, 2017

From previous features:  Junior Boy was adopted! Brownie Smurf is still waiting for his forever home.

Here is this week’s dog from McKinney:  Liam

Like to play? Meet Liam! He’s an 8-month-old, red and white, 46-pound Australian Cattledog mix. He was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on July 28 because his previous owner did not have enough time to care for him. However, his previous owner noted that he was energetic, kind and loving. Just for the record, he would make a great playmate. In fact, he loves to run, play tug-of-war, and fetch balls. He likes to jump, too, especially when a human comes near him or his kennel. Treats are a favorite pastime and he will sit on command. According to his previous owner, he does ok with kids and other dogs. Did you know that you could bring your current, vaccinated pets to the shelter to meet potential pets like him? Liam has been neutered, microchipped and has received age-appropriate vaccinations. His adoption fee is only $25, so please come and visit him. You may meet your next best friend! #151995

Still waiting for a home:  Brownie Smurf

What's in a name? Meet Brownie Smurf, a friendly, 62-pound, tan Pit Bull mix. He is healthy and a little over three years old. He probably won't remind you of a smurf when you visit him because he is neither blue nor small. But he is very nice to humans so maybe that's the connection! He was transferred from the Dallas Animal Service to the SPCA of Texas on May 26 to search for a new home. He loves to walk, am easy to walk, he loves treats and he loves to be petted. Brownie Smurf has been neutered, microchipped, and has received his age-appropriate vaccinations. He has also been de-wormed and has received flea/tick preventatives. In late June 2017, he was treated for heartworms and is scheduled for re-testing in a few months. Nevertheless, he feels great right now and hopes to find a new home soon. His adoption fee is only $25, so please come and visit him. You will be glad you did! #154787
