Tips for a Good Night Sleep
Got some good tips on getting a restful sleep. Give these a try and let me know if they work for you - they seem to have for me. Don't eat or drink anything before going to bed except for the following: apple, pumpkin seeds and/or tart cherry juice. I'm now also drinking a full glass of water before bed and as soon as I wake up. It's doesn't cause the bathroom issues you might think. These came in on my Facebook. What are your best sleep tips?
Crystal - Heating pad sometimes relaxes me. Melatonin helps make me sleepy.
Sam - Add a shot of vodka.

Mary - I've learned to not eat anything sweet during or after supper. I think it must cause a drop in blood sugar during the night and wake me up. I also have learned to eat supper fairly early, especially if we're having a lot of protein. I can safely drink a glass of milk at bedtime or even eat a bowl of cereal. I don't put sugar on mine. I worked nights for years, and I couldn't sleep if I came home and ate bacon and eggs. If I ate cereal or toast or something like that, I slept much better.
Christine - I drink a large glass of water before bed. I do have to get up once in the middle of the night, but that's actually good for me because then when I go back to sleep, I lay on the other side. I wake up less stiff in the morning.
Beth - A spritz of lavender spray on the sheets helps you sleep and keeps them germ free. Great for kiddos - so excited about school!
Cecelia - I grab two leaves off of my Passion fruit vine and brew a tea in 16 oz of hot water and drink about 20 minutes before bed. Good ol' camomile tea works also. Bananas are good, too. The potassium and magnesium help relax your muscles.
Tamara - Keep your bedroom dark and cool. Try to go to bed and get up at the same times each day, even on weekends.
Zusi - I have joint pain - not bad, but enough to keep me awake. I put a 2 inch foam pad on my bed; I take one low dose aspirin at bedtime, and I sleep very well.
Anthony - Small glass of raw goat’s milk.
Chrystal - Make sure the temperature is a little cooler at night, so when the body's basal temperatures shift in sleep, it won't wake you.
Paul - Garden until you drop!
Juanita - Do a good day's work.
Paula - Herbal tea blend: one bag of "Sleepy Time" and a bag of "Blood Pressure" tea, steeped in about 8 oz. of water.
Donna - Been drinking R.W. Knudsen tart black cherry juice a few years now. It's a very affective night cap.
Ida - Prayer.
Bobbee - I listen to a familiar audio book when my brain won't slow down. I have the tiny earbuds that are comfortable for side sleeping.
Donna - Magnesium oil diluted in distilled water and sprayed on legs and arms just prior to bedtime.
Eric - Wear socks to bed. Seriously, it makes a huge difference in how well you sleep.
Jocelyn - Essential oil of lavender. Rub a few drops on the bottom of your feet right before bed time.
Ryan - Breathe deeply and meditate during the time of each breath and try to breathe as slowly as you can.
David - Cornbread and buttermilk two hours before bedtime and a big shot of 100% pomegranate juice and then some Crazy Water right before brushing teeth!
Barbara - Wine.
Susan - Get a massage.
Vilma - Exercise vigorously at some point during the day.
