THREE TOUGH PLANTS PUTTING ON A SHOW

...but one you might want to avoid

Don’t know what has triggered it, probably the weather, but there are three easy-to-grow plants that are putting on a show. Two I highly recommend but one of them needs to be used with an understanding of some negative issues.

American agave is a near bulletproof plant that is also called century plant because of how long it grows before finally blooming. It’s showing off right now. Here’s an updated Dirt Doctor Library entry on the plant.

Agave Victoria-Regina is a beautiful although seriously armed agave. This is the first time I’ve seen it in bloom - and it’s in our back yard.

Sago Palm is a very pretty plant that’s also putting on a reproductive show right now - but it has a serious drawback.
