I have a new book coming out. It's a partnership with Mother Earth News and actually a revision and update of the Organic Manual. One of the recommendations in the book that has been tweaked is tree planting. One of the large problems in the landscape industry is that most trees are planted incorrectly. The most chronic mistake is planting too deep. Here's the drawing you'll find in the new book. The changes are subtle in the diagram but information about solving buried tree conditions has been greatly expanded.
