Soil Testing for Fall

Fall is an excellent time to take soil samples, get the test results back, and make plans for next year's fertilization program which should begin for gardeners, farmers and landscapers in late winter before the spring growth begins.

Synthetic fertilizer recommendations are usually to wait until spring and the plants have begun to grow. That's not what we advise. Organic fertilizer feeds the soil - and microbes specifically. In turn, they feed the soil - the natural way. A very small investment in soil testing will result in recommendations for managing the fertilizer budget to maximize production at the lowest cost. Management by guessing can be a waste of money and nonproductive.
